Adena’s Family Medicine Residency training program is tailored to fulfill current ACGME Residency Training Standards for Family Medicine.
PGY-1
The PGY-I year is developed to solidify your identity as a physician. You will complete 13, 4-week long blocks consisting of:
1 Block - Family Medicine Clinic/Orientation
3 Blocks - MED AM /Hospital Service Days Rotation
1 Block - MED PM/Hospital Service Nights Rotation
1 Block - Intensive Care Unit
1 Block - Community Medicine
1 Block - Women's Health
1 Block - Pediatrics-Ambulatory/Newborn
2 Blocks - Obstetrics
1 Block - Surgery
1 Block - Emergency Medicine
PGY-2
The PGY-2 year will consist of 13, 4-week long blocks. In addition, your 24-month Geriatrics longitudinal experience will begin.
2 Blocks - MED AM/Hospital Service Days Rotation
1 Block - Pediatrics ED (Adena/NCH)
1 Block - Family Medicine Residency Clinic
1 Block - Behavioral Health
1 Block - Pediatrics Inpatient (NCH)
1 Block - Nephrology
1 Block - Cardiology
1 Block - Sports Medicine
1 Block - Palliative Care
3 Blocks - Electives
PGY-3
The Geriatrics longitudinal experience will continue through PGY-3, while also consisting of the rotation below:
1 Block - Geriatrics
1 Block - Practice Management
1 Block - Hematology/Oncology
1 Block - Dermatology
1 Block - MED AM/Hospital Service Days Rotation
1 Block - Psychiatry-Addiction
1 Block - Radiology/ENT (2 weeks each)
1 Block - Elective/Ophthalmology (2 weeks each)
1 Block - Pediatrics Ambulatory/Newborn
4 Blocks – Electives
