No one wants to see their child struggle. That’s why Adena created comprehensive rehabilitation services that help your child heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Our pediatric rehabilitation programs provide one-on-one occupational, physical and speech therapy for children from birth through age 18. Many children may need more than one therapy specialty, so our therapists work together as a team to set goals and create a care plan that targets your child’s unique needs. Because we see your child on a regular basis, we can also help your doctor identify potential issues sooner. We send updates to your child’s pediatrician and help coordinate referrals to other specialists as needed.
If your child is working with two or three of our therapists, we will do everything we can to schedule therapy appointments back-to-back so that you only have to come one day a week.
Our pediatric rehabilitation specialists work with children who have developmental delays such as:
At our facility, we specialize in providing comprehensive care for children with diverse needs. Many children come to us with specific conditions such as Asperger’s syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy. We also cater to those who have experienced premature birth, traumatic brain injuries, or orthopedic injuries. Some children might be dealing with challenges like blindness or vision loss, while others may have conditions resulting from events at birth, such as a stroke or septa optic dysplasia. Additionally, we support children with developmental delays, whether they are pervasive or associated with conditions like Down’s syndrome. Our team is also equipped to assist children with seizure disorders. Each child's unique situation is met with personalized care and attention to ensure they receive the best support possible.
If you think your child could benefit from occupational, speech, or physical therapy at Adena, please talk to your doctor about a referral.
A child typically works with each therapist for 30 minutes at a time, one day a week. Because of the various conditions we see, children are typically enrolled in therapy for an extended period of time.
Our gym, which is specially designed for children, helps us offer therapy to young patients. Plus, for adolescents who need help with self-care and activities of daily living to be able to live independently when they reach adulthood, we have an individual treatment room that’s free of distractions.
Our team works with our pediatric patients on self-care skills, such as:
