Genetic testing and counseling: All new cancer patients have access to genetic testing and counseling through a partnership with The Ohio State University James Cancer Center. Patients at Adena are invited to share their family health history. This information is analyzed by advanced technology in collaboration with our genetics counseling partner, Ambry’s CARE Program, to identify any potential genetic mutations linked to increased cancer risk. This screening can help direct the patient's treatment plan and/or alert other family members who could be at risk.
Additionally, through our partnership with the Columbus Community Clinical Oncology Research Program (NCORP), patients can access groundbreaking research and potentially participate in clinical trials for innovative cancer treatments.Young Women’s Breast Cancer Group is a support group for women 50 or younger diagnosed with breast cancer, offering a platform to share experiences and find encouragement throughout the diagnosis and recovery journey.
I Can Cope is a complimentary educational initiative that provides cancer patients and caregivers with essential information about diagnosis, treatment, and coping strategies. Organized by the American Cancer Society, these community classes address numerous cancer-related concerns.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA partnership is a 12-week, evidence-based, physical activity and well-being program that helps people affected by cancer reach their health goals in a safe and supportive environment.
