Registration Opens for Adena Health Foundation Golf Classic
The late Jack Berno, MD, former Adena Health chief of staff, loved golf. He also loved creating opportunities for area high school students to pursue their health care dreams.
By taking part in or sponsoring Adena Health Foundation’s newly renamed Jack Berno Memorial Golf Classic, you can honor both of those passions. Formerly known as the Scioto Valley Golf Classic, registration for the four-person scramble event is now open. Proceeds from the event will support the Jack Berno Hope For Our Future scholarship fund.
WHAT: Jack Berno Memorial Golf Classic
WHERE: Crown Hill Golf Club, 9500 U.S. 22, Williamsport, OH
WHEN: Friday, September 29, shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The entry fee is $125 per player ($500 per four-person team), which will include greens fees, cart, a light breakfast, lunch, two drink tickets, a door prize ticket per golfer, and giveaways.
The Jack Berno Hope For Our Future scholarship fund provides scholarships annually to area students who are considering a career in some aspect of health care, both clinical and non-clinical.
Dr. Berno, a Chillicothe High School graduate who chose to return to his hometown following his medical training, was passionate about education and the future of the community he loved. Understanding that the longtime strength and viability of a health system depends on developing future generations of health care workers, he led an annual fundraising effort among Adena Health’s physicians and medical staff in support of scholarships to aid in that development.
Prior to his death in January, he looked forward every year to playing in the golf classic that also raised money toward the same goal – helping area students pursue their future goals and ambitions.
