Adena Pike Medical Center Earns Rural Health Award

As part of National Rural Health Day, celebrated on November 16, Adena Pike Medical Center (APMC) has been recognized with a 2023 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in quality. Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the award honors rural hospitals across the United States performing in the top 25 percent in selected categories.

APMC was one of only 10 rural Ohio hospitals recognized with a quality award.

“As a critical access hospital in rural Ohio, we understand the essential role we play in meeting the health care needs of our patients,” said Dave Zanni, APMC senior operations executive officer. “This marks a third consecutive year in which the hospital has received recognition for our commitment to delivering top levels of quality care. Our health care providers and staff remain steadfast in delivering consistent and trusted care that our patients can find close to home, and it is an honor to be recognized for that privilege.”

The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health around the country to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
