A MESSAGE TO OUR COMMUNITY
There aren’t many occasions when every person you know is dealing with the same life experience at the same time. This is one of those uncertain times.
Many of us have the same fears, we are making similar sacrifices, and we are dealing with the same unknowns. The Coronavirus has brought on these challenges, but it is also generating innovation and solutions in how we will deal with it.
On behalf of our communities, I made a promise that Adena would work 24/7 to be prepared for COVID-19. Over the past several weeks, Adena has been preparing for what we are now experiencing, as we care for our region’s first patient testing positive and hospitalized with COVID-19.
To prepare, teams of caregivers have set up specialized nursing units, worked through many processes and care scenarios, and have trained or refreshed training on equipment. I can’t speak enough about the dedication our caregivers have when it comes to taking care of our communities.
We are fortunate to have many talented people contributing to Adena’s mission of caring for those in the communities we serve. Each caregiver is critical to our ability to deliver the best possible care for our patients. Physicians, nurses, patient care associates, techs, pharmacists, registrars, environmental services, and so many more people are contributing to these efforts – not only during this pandemic, but every single day.
These caregivers are our everyday heroes. They are your family, friends and neighbors. They come to work at our hospitals and clinics to make sure that you, our patients, our community, have access to the care you need, when you need it the most.
I am confident if everyone in our communities could see how these professionals are approaching this challenge, and the amount of confidence there is among Adena’s workforce, you would be as proud as I am.
Even during a stressful and ambiguous time, I see excitement, engagement and enthusiasm throughout the health system. I know that Adena is prepared and ready to take care of your families, your friends, and your loved ones throughout this pandemic.
We are truly in this together.
