Adena Pediatrics Makes Changes to Best Meet Your Schedule

To improve your wait time in our clinic, all Adena Pediatrics after hours and Saturday visits will now be scheduled appointments opposed to walk in. Same-day appointments must also be called in no later than 7 p.m. After hours should be used for minor injury and/or illness. These changes will still allow for same-day access to the clinic, while being mindful of our patient’s schedules.

“We value the opportunity to see our patients on their schedule, which includes hours that are outside of routine business hours,” explained Brooke Lyons Adena Pediatrics Clinic Manager. “We do not want to sacrifice this service we offer our patients, but rather make the services more convenient for them. We’ve received numerous patient comments that they appreciate the after hours, but the wait time associated with our walk in clinic was extensive at times.”

Effective now, Adena Pediatrics has new hours of operation.

Normal Business Hours:             Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Weekday After Hours Clinic:       Monday-Friday, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Weekend Clinic Hours:               Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The changes in times and appointment procedure were a result of reviewing the data, which included the fact that the majority of Adena Pediatrics after hours patients were seen between 5-7 p.m. and considering the patient feedback, the clinic opted to utilize a scheduled model. This allows Pediatrics’ patients the same-day access they are accustom to, while allowing the clinic to utilize the schedule to reduce wait times for patients. This will also allow the clinic the opportunity to prioritize when a patient is seen based on illness.

“The care that Adena Pediatrics has always provided will remain unchanged, despite the earlier closure time daily,” Lyons said. “We still plan to accommodate the same-day appointments as we always have, just scheduled. In fact, a same-day appointment can be requested up until the phones are shut off at 7 p.m. Any Pediatric patient of Adena Medical Group is able to utilize our after hours service for acute issues, but would still be required to call our main number and request an appointment. Patients should still contact their primary care provider first during routine business hours.”
