Center of Excellence
When making a health care decision for yourself or your family, quality of care and peace of mind are important factors. Choosing where to receive that care also plays a big role in the decision that goes into the care you or your loved one will receive. Knowing that your hospital provides patient-centered care, with demonstrated success can give you the confidence you need.
Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Chillicothe has recently been recognized as a Center of Excellence by The Joint Commission in the areas of Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement and in the area of Perinatal Care. Having met The Joint Commission’s stringent quality standards for its Gold Seal of Approval® in each area, ARMC is a close-to home option for that peace of mind, and can provide comfort that the health care decisions you are making are the right ones.
Perinatal Care Certification
“Adena is committed to delivering excellent care to those living in our communities,” said Dr. Richard Villarreal, medical director, Adena Women and Children’s division. “As one of just four facilities in Ohio to receive this certification, we continually demonstrate our commitment to quality, and in delivering the best outcomes for our patients.”
Perinatal Care Certification recognizes the efforts of ARMC’s Women and Children’s program to achieve integrated, coordinated, patient-centered care for clinically uncomplicated pregnancies and births. The certification uses standards, guidelines and The Joint Commission’s perinatal care core performance measures to manage and monitor the aspects of perinatal care that are critical to improve and maintain the health of newborns and their mothers. The achievement is the result of ARMC’s continued compliance within its performance standards, and is a symbol of the quality reflected in a health care organization’s commitment to provide safe and quality care for newborns and their mothers.
Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification
Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification, in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, focuses on the entire patient experience, as related to total hip and knee replacement. This includes the pre-surgical orthopedic consultation, intraoperative treatment, post-surgery hospitalization, rehabilitation activities, and follow-up visits with the orthopedic surgeon. In each of these areas, ARMC has met the Joint Commission’s compliance standards, including fully integrated multidisciplinary collaborations, streamlined clinical pathways, patient optimization through shared decision-making and accelerated patient care through best practice approaches.
